Local resident Jennifer Wheeler was acclaimed as the federal candidate at a meeting of the Lanark, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington (LFLA) riding EDA for the Green Party of Canada on September 2, 2009. Jennifer supports the Green Party of Canada’s dedication to the needs of the family farm and small businesses, as they are the backbone of our Canadian heritage. Coming from a farming and forestry background in the Lanark Highlands, Jennifer understands the needs of farmers and landowners. Jennifer holds a diploma in naturopathic medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine from Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston. She is a licensed Naturopathic doctor with practices in Perth and Kemptville. When not seeing patients, Jennifer spends time helping on her family farm, raising beef cattle and producing maple syrup. “I support the Green Party’s goal to have Canada become a world leader in identifying solutions to climate change. Canada needs to shift its attention to a green economy in order to remain globally competitive”.
