From time to time the GPC LFLA EDA would like to recognize a local people for their exceptional and noteworthy contribution(s) towards a greener political path and/or towards a greener community. As well the contribution could be for outstanding service to the Green party in either frontline or background political activity.

The criteria for this award are:

  1. That the recipient may be a member in the Green Party of Canada or from the public at large.
  2. That the recipient’s permission be attained for submission. 
  3. That a one page written submission be sent to the awards committee.
  4. That the submitter should refer to the Charter of the Global Greens as a guideline.

The process:

  1. Nominations to be submitted to the Awards committee with the one page of reasons for the award.
  2. Submissions to be received by April 30th.
  3. Awards committee to make recommendation to Executive committee of the EDA.
  4. EDA executive to make final decision.
  5. Announcement and presentation of the GPC LFLA EDA Greener Way Award to be made at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The Awards Committee:

The committee shall be comprised of 2 male and 2 female members and be elected by the general membership at the AGM.

The EDA executive will present a list of names for election to this committee, starting at the 2008 AGM for a possible 2009 Greener Award.

The Award will be a personal one, representing the recipient’s achievement and/or contribution
